Auto Relocation Plus

I would have never imagined a company being this dishonest it is simply disheartening. I had my vehicle transported from Houston to Wichita. My vehicle was picked up without any damage on Oct 12. The day my vehicle arrived on Oct 17, I received a call from the dispatcher/ driver letting me know he was a few minutes away from my new residence. Before he hung up, he explained I would have to meet him because my car would not start. As you can imagine, I was extremely upset. No one could tell me what happened to my vehicle. I spoke directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing-Vic and he immediately redirected the blame towards me stating my vehicle was picked up damaged. To make a long story short, Auto Relocation denied everything they could have possibly denied. I spent the last three weeks playing Inspector Gadget, proving to my company that my car was damaged in Auto Relocations possession. I’m happy to say I will be reimbursed for everything(damage, towing and rental), but this doesn’t change anything. Auto Relocation is a very dishonest company. If this company is your only option, I advise you to drive your own car. They lack accountability and empathy for others. I just moved to a new state ,and the last thing I needed was for my car to get damaged. I work for a huge company and I’m 100% sure if I had did this transaction acting alone, I would be telling you guys a different story. I decided to write this review so I could help someone possibly not make a huge mistake by doing Business with Auto Relocation.

Service cost: $200

You should avoid them like the plague!   My biggest regret of the year is using them to ship my car. They damaged the front bumper of my car, dinged the divers side door and bent the frame on the passenger seat (What the heck were they doing on the passenger side?).    That was painful enough. But to make matter worse they completely denied responsibility for any of the damage.   You can see by the other review here and on Yelp that this is on ongoing trend. With service like that you have to wonder how they sleep at night let alone how they stay in business.

Description Of Work:

Auto Relo Plus was contracted by my employer to move my car from Minneapolis to Chicago for a job transfer.

They'll ruin your car and make you deal with the aggravation of getting it fixed. ARP moved my car as part of a corporate relocation. My car was on top of the car carrier, and the truck driver didn't make it under a bridge. My car had nearly $6,000 in damage. They also sat on the car for 4 days before they told me what had happened, and wouldn't tell me where it happened. Anyone reading this should know that ARP has substandard insurance. Their estimate of my vehicle's damage was $1600 vs. the nearly $6k that a reputable body shop AND my own insurance company estimated. The difference? They pay a labor rate of $26/hr. I can't even find a teenager to cut my grass for that low of an hourly rate. Then they tried to tell me that there are "approved" body shops that will do the work for this price - they were all chop shops. I finally was forced to submit a claim with my own insurance and have them subrogate against ARP's subpar insurance company to get the work done right. Not recommended.

Update: I went to trade in the vehicle Auto Relocation Plus damaged. The dealer pulled a vehicle history report, which stated that the car was involved in a rollover. Needless to say, there was a significant amount of diminished value to the vehicle (i.e. now worth much less). I also found it interesting (of not infuriating) that someone had reported the damage, but ARP couldn't/wouldn't/didn't ever give me a straight story regarding what had actually happened. I lost thousands of dollars based on their poor business practices. These people are shady - buyer beware.

ARP moved my vehicle for my new job from Chicago to Los Angeles. From the start of the move couseling with my rep, to the pickup driver and finally the delivery driver, everything went great. The transit time was very fast and my car was free of damage and clean! This was by far the easiest part of my entire move. I wish I could say the same for my household goods. Thanks ARP! I know there are some other bad reviews on here as well as other sites, but our experience was great.
